Mother And Daughter Killings Prompt $100K Reward Patch Lake Elsinore-Wildomar, CA --

*The following is a news release from the Riverside County Board of Supervisors:*

During a special board meeting on February 13, 2013, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) involved in the death of Connie and Maria Gonzalez. *[See the attached composite sketch and detailed description of the suspect.]*

Fifth District Supervisor, Marion Ashley, today asked the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to support his plan to take a critical additional step toward capturing the individual whose brutal stabbing attack took the lives of Maria and Connie Gonzalez. The mother and daughter died February 4, 2013 – they were residents of Nuevo, a community in the Perris area. Click here for more on the story.

In his statement supporting a new $100,000 reward, Supervisor Ashley spoke about a town hall meeting last Thursday.  It was a meeting held at the Bob Simpson gymnasium in Nuevo that he and the Sheriff’s department organized and attended. Supervisor Ashley described an overflow crowd of 500 local residents who were distraught, upset, scared, and concerned. At that time he reassured the crowd that the county might soon offer a reward. “Right now we are at the point where it will be helpful to offer a reward,” said Ashley today.  Key Sheriff personnel agreed with this assessment in their testimony. The Board voted unanimously in support of the reward.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help.   Persons with information about this incident should contact Investigator Josh Button of the Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit at (760) 393-3531 or Investigator Steven Grassel of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Hemet station at (951) 791-3405.
